At GRASP Innovations we are obsessed with inefficiencies, especially those within aviation security. Our security
checkpoint management system is an effective tool to manage operations and enables deep performance analyses
within airport security checkpoints.

It combines granular data gathered through our IR-UWB radars and in-depth knowledge on a complex process into a
unique solution. We’re looking for students and young professionals who are passionate about data and want to learn
and become competent data engineers. We’re looking to improve our internal analytics capabilities, which will begin with
you evaluating and implementing a POC OLAP system.

About the Role

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Set up end-to-end ETL processes,
  • Evaluate options and suggest your own approaches to problems,
  • Work independently while also receiving support from senior engineers,
  • Work on cloud-native solutions using GCP, PostgreSQL, with Timescale, and potentially data lake and or warehouse architectures,
  • Set up and manage databases,
  • Perform data modeling for analytics,
  • You can combine study/research while doing this internship
  • Working with and for clients like Schiphol, Rome Airport (FCO), Milan Airport (LIN) and many more!

Desired candidate qualities

  • Programming skills & theory (we use Python and SQL),
  • Self-motivated to explore data engineering concepts such as ETL, OLAP and OLTP, Data warehousing, Data Lineage, (de) normalization,
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (GCP is a plus),
  • Good communication skills and problem solving skills,
  • Commitment of minimum three months, preference for six months, with part time opportunities available (minimum 3 days a week),
